First Post: The First Public History Workshop
For this first posting we are uploading the poster for the kick-off event of the Bladensburg Civic Engagement Project. The event will be held on Wednesday, April 29th at the George Washington House in Bladensburg at 7:00. The kind people at the Anacostia Watershed Society have lent us a space. The workshop will begin with a talk by Dick Charlton of the Aman Memorial Trust about Bladensburg history and the restoration of 
the Magruder House. It will be followed by a presentation of the planned excavations at the Magruder House, the Market Master's House and the George Washington House. Following the presentation we will have a discussion about history, heritage, and preservation in Bladensburg with those attending.

This is really interesting - what a great project for the community and a wonderful partnership to show how so many groups can work together effectively.
